Ingredients
  1. 2 tbsp olive oil
  2. 1 onion, diced
  3. 1 pound ground beef
  4. 1 pound ground pork
  5. 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  6. 2 large egg yolks
  7. 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  8. 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  9. salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  10. 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  11. 1/3 cup flour
  12. 4 cups beef broth
  13. 3/4 cup sour cream
  14. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook, until onions become transparent, about 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Combine ground beef with ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg yolks, allspice, nutmeg and cooked onion in a large bowl. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until well combined. Form meatballs of a walnut size.
  3. Heat remaining tbsp oil in the skillet. Working in batches, add meatballs and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until browned at all sides. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel.
  4. Melt butter in the skillet. Add flour and cook until golden, about 1 minute. Gradually pour beef broth and cook, for about 1-2 minutes, whisking constantly. Add sour cream and salt and pepper, if needed. Then add meatballs and cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve immediately, topped with chopped parsley, if needed.
