The best appetisers are always tasty, easy to share and appealing, of course. But how about making a mushroom appetiser? This sounds absolutely incredible, and tastes even better! I saw the recipe on CakesCottage and just had to try my own version! The roasted mushrooms with garlic and thyme have all of the listed features, and they also make a perfect side dish! Mushrooms are roasted along with butter, garlic, thyme and breadcrumbs and such a combo is sure to please anyone’s taste! Ingredients
  1. 16 even-sized open cup mushrooms, stalks cut level
  2. 3 tbsp olive or vegetable oil
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  5. 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  7. 5 tbsp fresh breadcrumbs
  8. 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  9. salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a skillet and fry mushrooms, cap-side down, for 2-3 minutes over medium high.
  3. Arrange mushrooms in a casserole dish with the cups facing downwards.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together butter, garlic, thyme, lemon juice and garlic powder.
  5. Spoon a little garlicky mixture on each mushroom, and sprinkle with some breadcrumbs.
  6. Place into the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
