The best appetisers are always tasty, easy to share and appealing, of course. But how about making a mushroom appetiser? This sounds absolutely incredible, and tastes even better! I saw the recipe on CakesCottage and just had to try my own version! The roasted mushrooms with garlic and thyme have all of the listed features, and they also make a perfect side dish! Mushrooms are roasted along with butter, garlic, thyme and breadcrumbs and such a combo is sure to please anyone’s taste! Roasted Mushrooms Garlic Thyme

Ingredients
- 16 even-sized open cup mushrooms, stalks cut level
- 3 tbsp olive or vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 5 tbsp fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
- salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Meanwhile, heat the oil in a skillet and fry mushrooms, cap-side down, for 2-3 minutes over medium high.
- Arrange mushrooms in a casserole dish with the cups facing downwards.
- In a small bowl, mix together butter, garlic, thyme, lemon juice and garlic powder.
- Spoon a little garlicky mixture on each mushroom, and sprinkle with some breadcrumbs.
- Place into the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
